Major Activity

Glyn has been a very active lecturer and judge on the club circuit since 1991. To date he has been to 10 of the 15 Federations which make up the PAGB (Photographic Alliance of Great Britain) and has done lecture tours in three. This latter activity in conjunction with his wife, Jean Brooks EFIAP/b BPE2*.

Clubs visited extend from Fowey in Cornwall to Ashford in Kent, up to Kinross in Scotland and down all the way to Johannesburg, South Africa. The latter a real highlight, as we were invited as guest speakers to the 2001 Congress of the PSSA (Photographic Society of Southern Africa). Other guests included Tibor Jakab (Romania) and Jacky Martin (France, FIAP Board Member).

Back in 1998, Glyn got involved with the Southampton International Exhibition (see links page). He has been co-ordinating the production of the Catalogue since 1999, and from 2003 has been Chairman - leading a committee of 11.

Southampton International is now one of the largest salons in the UK, catering for both prints and projected images, and sponsored by FIAP, PSA and the RPS. It is also one of the oldest, holding its first exhibition back in 1901. 2013 saw the celebration of the Centenary Exhibition.
After long service to the International Glyn decided to stand down with effect from September 2014 and pass the baton over to Brian Dunseath ARPS. The future of the exhibition is in good hands and the move will hopefully free up more time to actually take some images.
